#99 Potato Community

by Lucas Jackson

This may look like paint splattered onto a canvas to the naked eye, but it’s not. Oh no, it’s much, much more than that. This is a potato community. In this unusual potato occurrence, are the things you would expect in a normal, human community. This potato community has human things such as serial killers, cannibals, pet potatoes, potato slaves, and more! Though not all potato communities are, this one is paganistic. You can see the three potato god statues that look extremely real and lifelike. Every day the potato community worships gods and sends them a sacrifice. You can clearly see the most recent sacrifice attempting to escape the gods as it rolls partly out of the picture. It is said by some with the knowledge of these potato communities that if you find the king potato, he will give you his treasure. No one really knows what the treasure is because if you pick certain, wrong potato it will turn you into a potato and then feed you to the community cannibals. In the halls of the king where the sacrifices are prepared for the gods, the slaves and cannibals are kept. The potato slaves prepare the sacrifices and tend to the cannibals while living in rooms adjacent to them. The cannibals are kept as a threat over the subjects so they do not rebel against the king. This is what happens in an ordinary potato community.

Fantastic. Different. For a potato community.

Imaginative. Felt spontaneous. I'm trying to read all of the stories and I found it so refreshing to come across this one...a reminder to not take ourselves or our art too seriously. I've been watching a lot of "The Office" on Netflix (American version) so I found myself imagining the 1st person voice was Dwight...I envisioned him in front of the other characters giving a presentation about the potato community. Thanks!

This is just so silly. I love silly. Tell me, is the potato community peeled?

They are only peeled while bathing.
